People need proper skills and technology to participate in the digital economy. But today, millions of households don’t have access to broadband infrastructure, may face affordability challenges or lack the digital literacy that can connect them to well-paying jobs.
Fortunately, steps are being taken to improve access across the country. Funds from the Digital Equity Act – a provision of the IIJA that provides money for literacy, accessibility and equity initiatives – are set to be released early next year.
